Hi Zenade. Thanks for seeing my comment. I have tried your steps but I still cannot get the game's English version working. I am using PPSSPP 1.12.3 (Installer version, https://www.ppsspp.org/files/1_12_3/PPSSPPSetup.exe), and by memstick I assume you mean the PPSSPP folder in My Documents? Within that folder I created a folder called EDF2 PORTABLE and pasted in the GameSequence and Mission folders, but still no luck. Would it be possible for you to create a video tutorial/a tutorial using screenshots? I have got a few people interested in this game with my latest blog post.

Hi. Thanks for the comments. One thing that may be wrong is the location of your memstick folder. It should be in the same directory as the PPSSPPWindows.exe file. Also, does the Mission folder have the numbered subfolders, each with at least a MISSION.BVM and a MISSION.KKPS file? Other than that, I'm not sure what else the issue could be.

Hi Zenade. Thanks again for replying to my comment. I have used the other version of PPSSPP and I have found the correct memstick folder (for me it's C:\Users\Timothy D'Alton\Downloads\ppsspp_win\memstick), which is where the EDF2 PORTABLE folder now sits. I was using the documents folder in the Installer version of PPSSPP. First off, I opened the ROM in PPSSPP, then exited. On the PPSSPP main menu, I right clicked on the game, selected cheats, selected edit cheat file and I currently have the following:

This made the four cheats appear in the cheats menu (LEVEL SELECT, EDF EXTRA MISSIONS, ENGLISH MISSION TEXT CODE, CUSTOM MISSIONS CODE). I then opened the game,  created my profile and appeared on the main menu, with the image of the two tanks. Here I paused the game, selected cheats and turned on ENGLISH MISSION TEXT CODE and then EDF EXTRA MISSIONS. I unpaused the game and selected the first mission (which the ant next to Big Ben in the thumbnail) and chose EASY difficulty. I skipped the cutscene, pressed start and exited the level. However, instead of this causing the Mission Briefings to be in English, the music stopped playing and the Briefings are still in Japanese. What I find interesting is that I can use the CUSTOM MISSIONS CODE to load the extra missions, meaning that I have the files in the right place, something just does not want to click with the emulator.

Thanks for letting me know. I don't know if it's the emulator or what, but it seems iffy when using these codes. I just tried and it worked once, then stopped. Try using just the EDF ENGLISH MENUS(USA) code at the main menu, load a mission and exit. The menus should be in English now. Let me know how you get on.

Hi Zenade. Sorry for the late reply. I've tried tons of things, but still no luck, other than a couple of images disappearing and some things crashing. There are only a number of things we can try, but what I have done is screenshotted my folder structures and pasted my cheat file's text so that you can compare to your own. If you find any differences, I will test them out myself.

Thanks for the info. I can't really see what the problem can be. The only difference I can see is that MissionCommentListText.Vfs is in lower case on my machine. Other than that, I don't know.

Thank you so much! I've found the problem, and now the English is up and running. A quick run down:

In the memstick\EDF2 PORTABLE\GAMESEQUENCE folder, I didn't have a file called "MissionCommentListText.Vfs", only MissionCommentList0/1/2/3/4.Vfs and MISSIONCOMMENTLIST.VFS. What I did was copy the MISSIONCOMMENTLIST.VFS file and paste it in the same folder, rename it to MissionCommentListText.Vfs, open the game, load my save, load the first mission, enable the ENGLISH MISSION TEXT CODE Cheat, exit to main menu, and voila, the briefing is in English!
