FULL METAL PLANETE
For thousands of years, the multi-national mining companies have set their sights on the treasures of Full Metal Planete, the planet which contains the most precious ore in the galaxy.
Every two thousand years the ore becomes accessible because of the favourable tide but you will have to be quick before the big tidal wave resubmerges the entire planet once more.
Coming from the west of the galaxy, you are not only known as the best space ship pilot around, but you are also a high level strategist.
Your mission is to collect the maximum of ore and to defeat the rival companies as well as their commanders.
HAVE YOU THE RIGHT STUFF TO BE A FULL METAL PILOT?

IN ORBIT AROUND FULL METAL PLANET
Interplanetary ore excavation companies come and go. Now that you've got command of your own mining fleet you can show the universe what it really means to haul ore.
But don't start pinning the ribbons and awards on your chest just yet. Full Metal Planet is a test for even the most seasoned - and cut-throat - mining consortiums. There will be three of these competitor's on the planet's surface with you – fighting for the same limited, precious cargo.
FULL METAL PLANETE. 8:54 AM. You will have to prove that you are the Cobra Steel Company’s best pilot …
Your mission: land your space ship, get a maximum load of ore, disintegrate or get hold of the precious equipment of the rival companies and, if possible, capture their own spaceship bursting with ore. Under your command a whole steel armada: barges, attack boats, tanks (amongst them the famous T99 known as the “Big Heap”), transporter crabs and the unique “Weather Hen”. This extraordinary machine, the technological pride and joy of Ludodelerium Motors & Co., is able to transform the ore into material. Not only that, it also foresees the changing tides. On Full Metal Planete ignoring the rising tide means foolhardiness. How easily your attack boats could get stuck or your tanks flooded.
In a previous campaign, this attack boat got stranded on a reef; now abandoned: “The ore goes first!” Stuck in the mud! This venturesome Crab has been surprised by the flood and can only hope for the next low tide. Isolated by the high tide, with its defenders neutralized, the Delirium Galaxy may be the next victim. Though a turret is destroyed, this space-ship of the TATOU Consortium manages to lift off.
It is imperative that you lift off before the Big Flood.
Ground contact in 50 seconds. Welcome to Full Metal Planete!
Your mission: Land your freighter on the volatile planet's surface, load up with all the ore your ship can carry, blast or capture your rivals' equipment – including their fully loaded freighter, if possible – then get off this rock they call a planet in one piece.
At your disposal is a state-of-the-art excavating armada: attack boats, barges, tanks (including the famous T-99, also known as the "Heap"), transporter crabs, and the unique "Weather Hen," which can take ore and transform it into new equipment and predict changing tides – critical to your survival on FMP.
Entering the FMP orbit. Good luck.
FULL METAL PILOT’S MANUAL
A freighter is composed of a central bubble and three pods topped by turrets. Aapart from the turrets, the freighter and its contents are indestructible; it is a shelter (and only starting point) for any units inside it.
CAPTURING A FREIGHTER
When its three turrets have been destroyed, a freighter and all the units of the same colour pass under the control of the first who sends a destroyer into that freighter which keeps its original colour.
Humans are free to make alliances. Alliances may be made with robots, by offering them non-aggression pacts.
FORECASTING THE TIDES
A Weather Hen in good working condition can, at any time, learn what the next tide will be. A Weather Hen cannot operate inside a freighter, on a barge, in an enemy fire zone or bogged down.
That’s what you’re here to get. It’s scattered in blocks all over the terrain. Blocks of ore may be loaded onto a freighter or can be transformed into extra units (vehicles or pontoons) by the Weather Hen.
There are two types of transport vehicles:
- the Barge (can carry up to 4 elements)
- the Crab (can carry up to 2 elements)
The elements that can be transported are:
- blocks of ore, the tank, the Heap and the pontoon. All count as 1 element each.
- the Weather Hen and the Crab. They count as 2 elements each.
Only the barge can transport a Crab or Weather Hen.
THE WEATHER HEN
A Weather Hen can build new units: it stops adjacent to a block of ore, loads the ore, then unloads the new unit which may be a tank, pontoon or a Crab. A Weather Hen may be used to simply transport and unload ore, as if it were a transporter.
Pontoons, which cannot move themselves but must be transported, are used to cover sea. A pontoon is laid or removed by a transporter or freighter, whatever the tide. You can place a number of pontoons alongside each other as long as the first touches real ground.
Destroyers can eliminate any unit (including ore), except freighters and their cargo (turrets can be destroyed). Destroyers are also used to capture units, push back the enemy and for defence. There are 4 types of Destroyer: attack boats, tanks, the T-99 supertank with long-range firing capability (generally called the “Heap”) and, finally, turrets, which are fixed.
